MEXICO | Fear extortion could impact investment. One person fell victim to extortion in Mexico for every hour of the first four months of this year, according to a report published on 13 June by the country’s influential business association Coparmex. The number of cases are up by nearly 50% during the first four and a half years of the administration of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador compared with the same period under his predecessor Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018), the report claimed.
