* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released the latest consumer price index, which revealed a slowdown of monthly inflation in May, although annual inflation remained extremely high. Monthly inflation in May was 7.8%, down from 8.4% in April. However, annual inflation rose to 114.2%, up from 108.8% in April. Indec stated that the steepest monthly price increases were for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+11.9%), restaurants and hotels (+9.3%), healthcare (+9.0%), and household goods (+8.8%).
