Jorge Gómez Otaño, one of 13 candidates competing in Paraguay’s presidential elections, withdrew from the race and threw his weight behind Santiago Peña, the candidate of the ruling Asociación Nacional Republicana-Partido Colorado (ANR-PC) on 5 April.
