* Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) has announced that Mexico recorded a year-on-year increase of 11.2% in remittances from abroad in February 2023. Remittances to Mexico totalled US$4.35bn in February 2023, representing a 1.3% drop from US$4.41bn sent the previous month. In the first two months of 2023, Mexico received US$8.76bn from its citizens residing abroad, a yearly rise of 11.8% compared to US$7.83bn in the same period of 2022. Mexico received a record total of US$58.49bn in remittances last year.
