*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the latest figures for the consumer price index (INPC), which shows that prices rose 0.30% in the first two weeks of February as compared to the previous two weeks. This brings annual inflation to 7.76%. This compares with 0.46% inflation
in the first two weeks of January compared with the previous two weeks, and annual inflation of 7.94% at that point. Core inflation, which leaves out certain volatile food and energy prices, rose 0.35% in the first two weeks of February compared with the previous two weeks, bringing the annual rate to 8.38%. Mexico closed 2022 with 7.82% annual inflation.
