* Brazil’s bankrupt retail giant Americanas has updated its list of creditors and the size of its debt. Having
previously revealed that it owed creditors R$41.23bn (US$7.98bn), the company has now released an updated figure of R$42.5bn. It also sent a new list of creditors to the judge of the 4
th commercial court of the state of Rio de Janeiro, where its proceedings for judicial recovery are currently under way. The updated list now has 9,713 creditors, up from the 7,976 creditors previously declared. Among the creditors the largest sums are owed to banks and multinational companies, including South Korean electronics company Samsung (R$1.03bn) and US financial services provider Goldman Sachs International (R$1.06bn), and Brazilian banks, such as private bank Bradesco (R$5.14bn).
