* Mexico’s national social security institute (IMSS) has released a new report which shows that as of 31 January, it had registered a total of 21.48m jobs. According to the same report, in January, 111,699 jobs were created in the formal sector, a monthly increase of 0.5%. In the last twelve months, the IMSS says it registered an increase of 722,176 jobs, equivalent to a yearly increase of 3.5%. The economic sectors that registered the highest annual percentage job growth were transport & communications (+5.8%), construction (+5.7%) and business services (+4.3%).
