In brief: Argentina posts Q2 growth
* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released new figures showing that economic activity grew 6.9% in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The same report showed that GDP in Q2 2022 had increased by 1% in quarterly terms. The sectors which posted the highest year-on-year growth in the second quarter of 2022 were hotels & restaurants (+53.9%), fishing (+24.1%), mining & quarrying (+15.5%) and transport & communications (+11.5%). Agriculture, farming & forestry was the only sector to record a decrease, shrinking by 5.2%.
