*Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) has adjusted its forecast for the 2022 harvest of grains, cereals, legumes, and oilseeds in the country, predicting a harvest of 261.7m tonnes - down 0.7% on Ibge’s last forecast in July. This number represents a 3.3% year-on-year increase and is still an annual record for Brazil’s grain harvest. It was driven by a 25.2% year-on-year rise in corn cultivation. Soy, corn, and rice together represent 91.5% of Brazil’s grain harvest and 87.1% of cultivated area in the country.
