* Green Power, a subsidiary of the Italian energy company Enel, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of the north-eastern Brazilian state of Ceará to study the feasibility of developing a green hydrogen plant, according to a communiqué reported in the local media. According to the communiqué, the ‘Green Hydrogen Fortaleza’ project, which would be located in Quixeré municipality, would see the installation of electrolysers with a capacity of up to 400MW in its first phase. Technical and commercial studies will determine whether the plant utilises ‘on-grid’ renewable energy, or ‘off-grid’ energy directly sourced from wind and solar plants.
