announcement last week by Uruguay’s President
Luis Lacalle Pou that the feasibility study had been completed and that formal negotiations over the FTA were set to begin. Argentina’s demands come just days before a heads-of-state summit of Mercosur is scheduled to take place in Paraguay’s capital, Asunción, on 21 July where Paraguay will hand over the rotating presidency to Uruguay.
