Addressing the ‘Brazil and Arab Countries Economic Forum’ in São Paulo, which was attended by representatives from the 22 countries in the Arab League, Ferraz said that the Bolsonaro administration is seeking to diversify Brazil’s export portfolio to expand trade with Arab countries. Arab markets are of increasing importance to Brazil, which exported R$4.7bn (US$881.8m) in halal products in 2020, according to figures from Brazil’s association of meat exporters (Abiec) cited by local media.
