In brief: Oil production falls in Venezuela
* The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has published its latest monthly oil market report, in which Venezuela claimed to have produced 735,000 barrels of crude per day (bpd) in May, down from 775,000 bpd in April. The OPEC report’s other assessment of Venezuelan oil production, compiled using secondary sources, put oil production in May at 717,000 bpd, down slightly on the 719,000 bpd estimate for April.
