Guillermo Lasso and his Costa Rican counterpart
Rodrigo Chaves have confirmed plans to begin talks regarding a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) between both countries. The comments were made on the side-lines of the Summit of the Americas (SoA) which is taking place in the US this week. This is in line with comments made earlier this week by President Lasso that Ecuador was seeking to negotiate at least between ten and 12 new FTAs over the next three years, including with Mexico, the US, China, South Korea and Israel.
