Brazil’s education ministry (MEC) has been hit by scandal, after leading newspapers revealed that a select few evangelical pastors allegedly benefited from undue favours and influence within the ministry. The still-developing story has sparked outrage in a number of quarters, not least amongst the political opposition, but it is still unclear how much it will harm President Jair Bolsonaro and his government.
