Less than two months into her term and President Xiomara Castro of the leftist Partido Libertad y Refundación (Libre) continues to move on her chief campaign pledge to eradicate official corruption. Following Castro’s request to the United Nations (UN) for support to establish a commission against corruption and impunity in Honduras (CICIH) [WR-22-08], last week congress repealed a 2014 law on the classification of public documents related to security and national defence.
