* Venezuela’s main industrial lobby, Confederación Venezolana de Industriales (Conindustria) has said that the country’s industrial sector was operating at 27% of its capacity in Q4 2021, which according to local media is its highest level since 2018 and up from 23% in Q3 2021. According to Conindustria, pharmaceutical and chemical producers had the highest productivity in Q4, operating at 36% of capacity, followed by the food and drink sector (31%), and rubber and plastics manufacturers (30%). The least productive sectors were machinery and electrical/computer equipment (operating at 16% of capacity), textiles and shoe manufacturers (17%), and furniture producers (18%).
