Ecuador’s President Guillermo Lasso insisted on 22 February that his government “has absolutely not interfered” in the leadership of the Consejo de Participación Ciudadana y Control Social (CPCCS), the autonomous body tasked with senior judicial and regulatory appointments and the oversight of public funds.
