Axel van Trotsenburg, confirmed in a meeting with Economy Minister
Martín Guzmán that Argentina will receive US$2bn in WB funds in 2022. This follows Argentina’s receipt of US$2.1bn in WB funding in 2021 for the country’s response to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, including the purchase of vaccines and the expanded economic support for low-income Argentines. According to an economy ministry statement, Van Trotsenburg told Guzmán that
“the World Bank supports [Argentina] while it continues advancing along its path of growth and recovers from the impacts of the Covid-19” pandemic. The statement added that
