Ecuador’s President Guillermo Lasso issued Executive Decree 151 on 5 August, outlining the government’s “Action Plan for the Mining Sector”. The decree is the most significant show of support for the industry by an Ecuadorean government since the Rafael Correa administration (2007-2017) and puts forward a roadmap to resolve some of the key political challenges faced by the sector.
