THE BAHAMAS: Desperate times for The Bahamas government

With only just over a year before the next general election is due, The Bahamas’ Free National Movement (FNM) government, led by Prime Minister Hubert Minnis, is being assailed on all sides by misfortune (some self-imposed). Despite coming to power in May 2017 with a landslide 35-4 victory over the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), the FNM government will be lucky to escape the fate of its two immediate predecessors in being another single-term administration.
