MEXICO-US | Drug violence spreading northward. Authorities in Tucson, Arizona, believe that the spread of drug-gang violence from Mexico is one of the reasons for the sharp upswing in the city's murder rate. A spokesman for the Tucson Police Department said on 21 November, 'In many of the homicides recorded the detectives have very few leads. We suspect that these were situations in which there was a settling of accounts, and there are few witnesses, little cooperation, little information.'
