BRAZIL | Congress approves 2020 budget with R$2bn electoral fund. On 17 December, the mixed budget committee (CMO) in Brazil’s federal congress presented its revised version of the 2020 budget, which was approved by federal deputies and senators later that day. The approved text outlines a R$3.397tn (US$905bn) budget for the federal government next year and establishes a primary deficit target of R$124.1bn (US$30.6bn).
