Uproar over pink Zapata

It is not the traditional way of depicting revolutionary hero Emiliano Zapata. A painting hung in Mexico City’s Museo de Bellas Artes shows him naked, riding a white horse, and wearing only high heels and a pink sombrero. On closer inspection one of the high heels looks like a pistol. The painting triggered uproar with a group of men leading a violent demonstration, demanding that the painting be burnt, hurling homophobic insults, and attacking other museum goers.
