JAMAICA: The IMF’s surprise star pupil

As other countries in the region are struggling under the weight of International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan packages and associated policy prescriptions, Jamaica has just graduated with success from an arduous six-and-a-half-year reform programme spanning two successive arrangements. With its finances in a much healthier state, Jamaica now faces the challenge of kicking on, delivering economic growth and reducing poverty.
