President Iván Duque was in Switzerland as part of a three-nation tour of Europe on 20 June when the news came through that Colombia’s congress had sunk his government’s anti-corruption bill. It was awkward timing for Duque who had made a point during his first port of call in the UK earlier in the week that his government took a very strong stance on corruption.
