* Brazil’s state-owned oil company Petrobras has begun production on its 'P-76' platform, the third active platform at the Búzios field in the 'pre-salt' area of the Santos Basin, 180km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state. The P-76 has a daily production capacity of 150,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) and can compress up to 6m cubic meters of natural gas. This is Petrobras’ second platform to begin operations in 2019, out of a planned total of four. The company averaged a total oil and gas production of 2.63m bpd in 2018.
