Uruguay: Uruguay’s official exports and investment promotion agency, Uruguay XXI, has released a new report which showed that in the first quarter of the year the country's exports reached US$2.16bn, up 17% on the same period last year. According to Uruguay XXI, this was the best first quarter export results for five years. As regards the month of March, exports reached US$767m, up 12% on the same month in 2017. China was Uruguay’s biggest export market, accounting for 18% of the country’s total exports in March, followed by Brazil (15%) and the Netherlands (3%).
