Development: On 21 September, amid growing reports that some of the communities affected by the earthquake that shook central areas of the country on 19 September have yet to receive official assistance, and confusion over the rescue operations being carried out by the federal security forces in Mexico City (CDMX), the national civil protection coordinator at Mexico’s interior ministry (Segob), Luis Felipe Puente, responded by saying that the federal and local government authorities were providing assistance to all those affected by the earthquake.
