Brazil: On 2 June, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson met Brazil’s foreign minister, Aloysio Nunes Ferreira, in Washington DC. A US State Department press release notes that the two “remarked on the strong bilateral relations between the two countries” and the importance of the bilateral partnership. According to the press release, Tillerson thanked his Brazilian counterpart for the Brazilian government’s support on a variety of topics, including “our commitment to promote economic growth, investment, and job creation in both countries”. The two leaders also discussed joint cooperation on law enforcement, security, regional, and global issues, including the political situation in Venezuela.
