“I have one port of destination and I am navigating to arrive at that port”, President Juan Manuel Santos said during an interview with
BBC Mundo this week. In fact, he blew the candles at his administration’s second birthday party on 7 August, defiantly telling his detractors, particularly his predecessor, Alvaro Uribe (2002-2010), that he will stay the course in relation to security policy. “We know one thing for sure: we will not allow anything or anyone to question either our will or our accomplishments”, Santos said in a clear allusion to increased criticism of his administration from right-wing politicians who argue Santos is putting at risk the security accomplishments of Uribe [
