COSTA RICA: The fiscal deficits start to flash red
The central bank has issued a warning that the public sector’s deficit this year could hit 6.7% of GDP, the highest for 25 years. Former finance ministers are warning that unless the government makes some difficult choices now, in future years this deficit and the fiscal deficit, which is its biggest element, will be even worse.
