NICARAGUA: Noriega spearheads new bid to split the 'pact'

The US has launched a new drive to split up the 'pact' between the Partido Liberal Constitucionalista (PLC) and the Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional (FSLN). Assistant Secretary of State Roger Noriega fired the first barrage, announcing that the Liberals would soon be given the choice between being 'friends or enemies of the US'. Following up, interim ambassador Oliver Garza travelled to Managua to apply pressure in person.
