URUGUAY: Doing rather well

The central bank did not change interest rates at its meeting at the beginning of March, holding them at 7.25%. In the run up to the meeting on 7 March there had been considerable speculation that the bank would lower rates, simply because the differential between local and US interest rates had become so wide.
