COSTA RICA: Inflation still too high

An economics consultancy, Ecoanálisis, forecasts that inflation in 2007 will come in at 8.5% and that in 2008 the rate will be 7.5%. Both figures are beyond what the central bank is forecasting. Ecoanálisis, along with the overwhelming bulk of independent forecasters, predicts that this year growth will be below the 2006 rate.
