PERU: Strong growth but tiny minimum wage increase

Although the economy grew by 7.6% year-on-year in the first half of 2007 and the government faced growing unrest over the unequal distribution of wealth, the government is planning to increase the minimum wage by only a measly NS$30 (US$9.5) a month.
