ECONOMIC OVERVIEW

The official statistics agency reported that GDP output grew by 0.8% in October, a bit less than the government and local economists had expected. The poorish October figure suggests that the government will now be hard-put to hit its target of GDP growth of between 1% and 1.5% for 2009. In 2008 the economy had grown by 10%.
