*Uruguay’s national statistics institute (INE) has released the official inflation figures for September, putting monthly inflation at 0.54% and annual inflation at 4.68%. The monthly rate for September is up from 0.24% in August, while the annual rate is up from 4.55%. Of the 13 categories of products and services measured by the INE, 10 saw monthly price rises in September 2026. The greatest monthly increases were registered in food and drink (+1.73%), recreation and culture (+0.54%), insurance and financial services (+0.53%), and personal care and various goods (+0.43%). The three categories that measured monthly deflation were alcoholic drinks and tobacco (-0.09%), clothing and footwear (-0.12%), and transport (-0.54%).
