*Peru’s ministry of foreign trade and tourism (Mincetur) has announced that exports totalled US$63.52bn in the first seven months of 2026, up 33% year-on-year. According to a report by Peru’s state news agency
Andina, growth was driven mainly by higher mineral sales, which totalled US$46.28bn, up 49.2%, and which was largely attributable to high international copper and gold prices. According to the same report, leading exports were: copper (US$21.61bn, +43.3%), gold (US$16.39bn, +56.9%), lead and silver concentrates (US$3.50bn, +105.7%), and zinc (US$1.67bn, +11%). The same report also highlights the performance of other sectors including agricultural exports (US$6.33bn, +2.7%), chemical products (US$1.23bn, +9.9%), and metallurgical goods (US$1.21bn, +14%). China and the US remain Peru’s main export markets, with exports to China reaching US$24.34bn (+37.5%) and those to the US amounting to US$5.97bn (+20.9%); while sales to the European Union reached US$5.62bn (+6.5%).
