BRAZIL: Lula’s son under pressure over corruption probes

As of 4 August, Brazil’s supreme court (STF) has authorised three police investigations into businessman Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, the eldest son of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The investigations are based on suspicions of corruption and influence peddling by Fábio Luís, who has already faced pressure due to his indirect connections to other suspects implicated in the high-profile corruption scandal involving the national social security agency (INSS) [WR-26-13].
