*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has announced that the country’s tourism GDP decreased by 0.8% in the first quarter of 2026, as compared to the previous quarter, and increased by 0.1% in yearly terms. This compares to a quarterly increase of 0.8% in the final quarter of 2025 and of 0.5% in the third quarter, according to the latest figures. Domestic tourism consumption was down by 0.7% in Q1 2026 in quarterly terms, while it rose 0.2% in annual terms. The quarterly GDP drop was comprised by a 1.1% decrease in services, while goods increased by 0.3%. In annual terms, goods increased by 0.7% while services fell by 0.1%.
