*Mexico’s tourism ministry has announced that 7.8m people travelled to the three host cities of the Fifa World Cup between 8 June and 19 July, resulting in total tourism spending of M$42.3bn (US$2.4bn). This was up by 44% compared to the same period last year, while the number of tourists was up by 36%. Some 4.4m tourists visited Mexico City (CDMX), and tourist spending was up 41% at M$25.9bn.
