*Costa Rica’s export promotion agency, Procomer has released new figures showing that Costa Rica’s goods exports in the first five months of 2026 totalled US$9.54bn, up 6% on the same period in 2025. According to a breakdown of figures, medical devices accounted for 45% of sales, followed by agriculture (18%) and the food industry (12%). The only sector to present a fall year-on-year was plastics which dropped 6%. The US remains Costa Rica’s main market for goods exports, with North America as a whole accounting for US$4.48bn of sales in the first five months of 2026, representing 47% of the total.
