BRAZIL: Lula boosts ties with various allies at G7

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva attended the G7 summit held in the French town of Évian-les-Bains from 15-17 June. Lula has been invited as an external partner to attend the bloc’s summits in recent years, which he has always used as a chance to reiterate his usual rhetoric emphasising the importance of multilateral cooperation and as a platform to hold bilateral talks with various world leaders. This effort by Lula to meet with other allies also comes amid recent strains in diplomatic relations between Brazil and the US [WR-26-22].
