BRAZIL: Lula hails fall in deforestation in challenge to US tariff claims
On 11 June Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva highlighted new figures from the national space research institute (Inpe), which showed a fall in deforestation in May, and rejected recent US claims that Brazil was not effectively preventing illegal deforestation.
