Chile’s left-wing opposition Partido Socialista (PS) and Frente Amplio (FA) accused the far-right government led by President José Antonio Kast of championing a heavy-handed approach to policing of protests after a march convened by the main national student union Confederación de Estudiantes de Chile (Confech), resulted in at least 35 arrests and multiple injuries.
