*Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has agreed to deliver 15 units of its E195-E2 passenger plane to US aircraft leasing company Azorra. With this latest order, Azorra’s total confirmed orders of Embraer’s E2 planes has increased from 39 to 54 units. According to an Embraer press release, this order also represents an important milestone for Embraer’s E2 programme, bringing the total number of orders to over 500 aircraft. The E2 jet series currently has over 200 aircraft in operation and 24 airline customers. Embraer’s statement cites its head of commercial aviation,
Arjan Meijer, as describing Azorra as
“an important partner in the global success of the E2”, adding that this new order is
“yet another strong demonstration of the exceptional economic, performance, and passenger comfort advantages of this aircraft”. He also hailed the achievement of surpassing 500 total orders for the E2 series as
“a moment of joy for Embraer”, reflecting
“the growing demand for right-sized and more efficient aircraft”.
