Petrobras posts higher production. The state-controlled oil company Petrobras reported on 30 April that its oil and gas production for the first quarter of this year totalled 3.23m barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), which is up 16.1% compared with the first quarter of 2025. According to a Petrobras statement, this latest result is a quarterly record. The oil giant highlighted strong production figures in several oilfields near Brazil’s south-eastern coasts, such as the Búzios and Mero fields, both located in the Santos Basin.
