BRAZIL | Industrial production posts slower growth. The national statistics institute (Ibge) released new figures on 2 April showing that the country’s industrial production in February increased by 0.9% compared with January but decreased by 0.7% compared with February 2025. The accumulated annual production for the 12 months through February 2026 was up 0.3% on the preceding 12-month period. The monthly result for February marks a deceleration compared with a 1.8% monthly increase in production from December to January. The annual figure for February also represents a slowdown compared with the annual increase of 0.5% registered for the 12 months ending January 2026.
