In brief: Brazil’s Petrobras announces new oil discovery
*Brazil’s state oil company Petrobras has announced a new oil discovery in the Campos basin off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state. The discovery of “high quality” pre-salt oil followed the drilling of an exploratory well with a depth of 1,178 metres in the Marlim Sul oilfield, in which Petrobras is the sole operator.
